Miranda Menaspà

Director, National Performance Support Systems – Australian Institute of Sport

Say hello to Miranda Menaspà, the National Performance Support Systems Director at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). Miranda began her career as a physiotherapist, working for over a decade alongside Olympic and Paralympic athletes, providing expertise in physiotherapy, sport science and medicine.

Her journey at the AIS began as the National Physical Therapies Network Lead, where she fostered collaboration and efficiency among physiotherapists in Australia’s high-performance system. She then led a team of National Sport Science and Sports Medicine Leads, strengthening connections and building system capability within national sporting organisations.

When asked how the women in her life inspire her, Miranda shared, “They encourage me to keep striving for my goals by demonstrating that women lead in an authentic way, creating positive cultural environments that enable others to thrive.”

Now, as National Performance Support Systems Director, Miranda guides the strategic direction of performance support programs and fosters collaboration across Australia’s high-performance sport system.
